Ricky Fishman is remembering his wifeCindy Charles, Twitch’s head of music, who died after a traffic accident in Amsterdam.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Fishman posted atouching tribute on social media, which he said was written “through tears.”
“We have been together ever since, living bicoastal lives, between Manhattan and Berkeley,” he added.

Fishman said that Charles was “at the top of her game” in the music business, but also wouldn’t take things too seriously. “She would joke about being the most immature 69 year old (I can finally let out her age that she tried to hide for so long:) with the energy of a teenager,” he continued.

The Berkley resident encouraged readers to hug their loved ones close and tell them they love them today. “Life is such a fragile affair, and what we have today, we may not, tomorrow,” he added.
Twitch CEO Daniel Clancy confirmed the “truly tragic news” of her deathon X(formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, Oct. 18.
“Cindy was killed in a traffic accident when she was traveling in the Netherlands,” Clancy wrote in a statement. “Most of the members of the Twitch community are probably not familiar with Cindy’s work, but she has been leading our team that manages our relationship with the music industry.”
