TheNarcosactress — who played Maria Salazar on the hit Netflix show — exchanged vows with Greg Bekkers in a June 15, 2024 wedding at “Le Domain du Rey” in Saint-Félix-de-Pallières, France.

Londo tells PEOPLE that the couple held their 60-guest nuptials in France so that they could get married near family members who were unable to travel.

“France has always been a very special place to us as a couple, so it was a no brainer choosing it as our destination,” she says. “And Belgium is only a couple hours away, which is where Greg is from, so it was perfect!”

The couple wanted a very simple, “less is more” wedding color palette and theme, with the venue and specific details adding contrast for impact. “The bridesmaids wore soft bronze flowy dresses with a figure hugging silhouette and the groomsmen wore black suits with black bow ties,” Londo notes.

Her father walked her down the aisle as a violinist played Elvis Presleys “Can’t Help Falling in Love."

“I’ll never forget having my Dad walk me down the aisle. He’s not a man of many tears, so to see him and feel him cry with emotion as he held my hand is a memory of my father I’ll take with me forever,” Londo says. “Both Greg and I were crying when we reached each other, it was such a special, almost out of body experience.”

Londo adds that she chose a blusher veil for the ceremony. “My Dad lifted it when we got to the altar, and I felt like a true ‘Mexican bride’ all the more for it,” she says.

While Londo’s sister-in-law Natasha Bekkers officiated, the couple exchanged handwritten vows, with the bride saying the writing process was “nerve wracking,” but worth it.

“It’s a really grounding thing to do in the midst of all the hectic planning,” Londo says of writing her vows. “It really reminds you what’s important and what the day is really about – celebrating the love you have for each other and this newfound journey you’ve chosen to start together.”

We had simple colorful flowers and melted candlesticks scattered all along two long outdoor tables with a white tablecloth draped over top," Londo says, noting that the venue’s “expansive view” and the texture from the surrounding buildings offered " the ultimate simple, rustic, yet incredibly romantic atmosphere."

“We didn’t actually try our cake before the wedding, which sounds crazy in retrospect!” Londo says. “We chose the semi-naked ‘fine dark chocolate and praline crunch’ cake. It tasted like a decadent yet balanced Ferrero Roche, and more than one person told us it’s the best cake they’d ever had.”

“It was really nice having a chill, no-pressure day before the big day,” Londo says.

“We finished the night playing Uno, eating leftover cake, and drinking champagne,” Londo says.

As Londo describes, she and Bekkers met as the result of “a fateful swipe right in 2019,” with Bekkers ultimately proposing during a 2022 trip to Arizona.

“We were on a roadtrip through Arizona and Utah,” Londo says, noting that after a day of exploring, they arrived back at their accommodations to find the balcony decorated with flowers and champagne.

“He proposed at sunset with a photo album that ended with a picture that had ‘Will you marry me?’ written on it. He played a song he wrote for me in the background the entire time,” she adds.

Bekkers agrees, adding that his new bride’s “passion for life keeps me present and mindful of the little things, which are the most important things.”

“It really is one of the most important and significant days in your life,” she says. “The memories made, feelings expressed, and stories shared are forever tethered to the people we experienced them with and with our love for each other.”
