Nev Schulmanshared an emotional update as theCatfishstar continues to recover froma broken neck.
“It’s been two weeks since I broke my neck and had emergency spine surgery. And I thought I’d get on here [and] just give you all a quick little update” he said.
“I never had such fatigue from a ten-minute walk but I’m almost home now,” he said. “I mainly just wanted to get on here to say thank you.”
Schulman — who broke his neck in a biking accident, while en route to pick his son up from school — had previously disclosed in anInstagram post on Aug. 10, that his injuries were “stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed."
“I never made it to pick up my son from school on the bike,” he wrote. “In fact in some ways, I’m glad I didn’t. I was alone on impact. Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement. I was alone and unconscious.”
“My hands were a question mark there for a minute but the human body is incredible and so are HUMANS.”

In his latest video, Schulman is visibly emotional as he says, “Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Stony Brook. Thank you my family and friends for all the amazing support that I’ve been given and felt deeply for the past two weeks. And thank you so much to you guys. The support and love that I’ve been getting online has been really, really incredible. It meant so much to me.”
“So thank you, really, from the bottom of my heart.”
He continued, “If I’ve learned anything in the last two weeks, it’s to really appreciate what you have. Because you can lose it in a second.
“You can lose it in a second,” he repeated.
“Alright, you guys are the best,” he said as he signed off. “I love you.”
