The world’s oceans are full of surprises.

Our Oceans, an upcoming Netflix docuseries, will help animal lovers explore these “gateways to the unknown” and the creatures that inhabit them — with some help.

This means viewers will learn about the migrations and “heists” of the humpback whales traveling through the Pacific Ocean, how walruses are coping with climate change in the Arctic Ocean, and fascinating facts about the 75,000 miles of water in between.

TheOur Oceanstrailer, which PEOPLE is debuting online exclusively, gives water enthusiasts a taste of what the new series has in store.

The clip includes tense footage of orca whales hunting seals, soaring schools of fish, a close-up of a colorful mantis shrimp, and much more.
