Readers are going toflipover the newBlack Rose Auctionseries, in which childhood favorite fairytales get a decidedly adult makeover.

TheBlack Rose Auctionseries is the brainchild of Bonkers Romance, an initiative born out of Katee Robert’s and Jenny Nordbak’s “desire to uplift authors who were making fearless choices and writing for joy,“according to the co-founders. Their goal is to help highlight authors whose work may not find a robust platform otherwise, and to create special hardcover editions and swag to promote their books.

“Jenny Nordbak, my Bonkers Romance partner, wrote a truly inspired Rumpelstiltskin remix that I’ll be talking about until the day I die,” the author continues. “R.M. Virtues is another author who loves Greek myth retellings with his Gods of Hunger series, and his contribution was a sharp and spicy remix of Goldilocks with angels and demons. Our final author is Sara Cate, who penned the wildly popular Salacious Players Club series, and brought us a wild and angsty remix of Cinderella.”

The six hardcover editions will be available only to campaign supporters, but the e-book versions will release on Kindle Unlimited in Feb. 25. Sourcebooks Casablanca will be releasing three flipbook volumes in February 2025, June 2025 and October 2025. They’re all available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
