Olympic Gymnast Gifted Condo and Free Food for Life After Becoming Philippines' First Male Gold Medalist

Filipino gymnastCarlos Yulohas had a lot to celebrate recently.

On August 1,the real estate company Megaworldannounced that any Filipino Olympian who won gold in Paris would receive a fully furnished two-bedroom condo in their McKinley Hill development.

“Since this is a very significant milestone in the history of Philippine sports to have two gold Olympic medals during our 100th year participation as a country in the Olympics, which also coincides with our company’s 35th anniversary this year, we are boosting our reward for Carlos Yulo," Megaworld president Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso stated in a press release.

To create the desired European charm, the neighborhood features a Venetian-themed shopping mall called the Venice Grand Canal, and residential areas named after various cities, such as the Tuscany Private Estates.

After weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the country’s first-ever gold medal for weightlifting at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, she received a free condo inthe company’s Eastwood developmentin Quezon City.

Announcing the reward, Gutierrez-Alfonso called McKinley Hill the “perfect home for Filipino champions who live a life of passion and excellence through and through.”

Other branches of the Philippine government are chipping in to celebrate the artistic gymnast, as the Philippine House of Representatives announced a 6-million-peso gift (around $104,000) on August 5, doubling their earlier sum of 3 million pesos.
