Daniel Dae Kimadmits he wanted to have a memento from his years on theLostset.

TheHawaii Five-Ostar, 56, “wanted something that I could keep with me and didn’t take up a lot of space,” he tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “A lot of people took things like life preservers, but I just thought that’s going to be bulky to carry around. So I took an ashtray from the crashed airplane. It’s one of those removable old school ones that used to be in the the arm rest.”
