A Texas teacher is sharing his story of being homeless to show that other educators who are struggling aren’t alone.
In aGoFundMe post, Austin educator andTikTokerBill Atkinson said that he began living out of his car after a combination of “mistakes and bad luck."
The teacher said having bad credit meant that he could not get approval for subsidized housing in the expensive metro area where he lives, where theaverage rent is just under $1,500 per month, according to Austin apartment data.
