On Oct. 27, the Prince of Wales, 42, sent a personal message onXto congratulate Billy Monger of Great Britain on his success at the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. There, the 25-year-old former racing driver smashed the record for a double amputee with a finish time of 14:23:56.

“Well done Billy, inspirational effort. W,” Prince William wrote online from the official Prince and Princess of Wales handle he shares with Princess Kate.

The heir to the throne signed the note “W” to signal that the sentiment came directly from him, and he commented it on Monger’s celebratory message.

“14:23:56 - I can’t believe what just happened, World Championship Record Broken. I am offically an IRONMAN,” the triathlete wrote on X on Oct. 27, including emojis of a muscle arm, prosthetic leg and heart. “Let’s goooooo.”

WhileGreat British Magsays that trick-or-treating isn’t as popular in the U.K. as it is in the United States, the Princess of Wales has previously led her kids in the tradition. Last year,Hello!reported that Princess Kate took her kids trick-or-treating in London in 2022, though the family might have some even more important plans on Oct. 31 this year.
