Priyanka Chopra Attends Brother Siddharth's Ring Ceremony to Actress Neelam Upadhyaya in Mumbai

Priyanka Choprais celebrating a happy occasion in her family!TheCitadelstar’s brother, Siddharth Chopra, held a ring ceremony with his partner, actress Neelam Upadhyaya, in Mumbai, India on Aug. 23. The Hindu pre-wedding tradition — known as a hastakshar, which translates to “signing” in Gujarati — is where the families of both the groom and the bride gather to witness the exchange of rings and share gifts and blessings.

On Monday, Aug. 26, Priyanka, 42, shareda poston Instagram featuring clips of the group seemingly posing for a photo together to mark the moment, and her brother, 35, and Upadhyaya, 30, proudly showing off their rings as they embraced. She also included a throwback photo of herself and Siddharth with their parents.

“And they did it,” Priyanka declared in the post’s caption. “With the blessings of their parents, friends and families, on our dad’s birthday. Their हस्ताक्षर and 💍 ceremony ❤️ 🧿.”

Siddharth and Upadhyaya — a Mumbai-born actress who has appeared in several Tamil and Telugu films — shared two joint Instagram posts in honor of the occasion. Thefirst post— which they captioned, “our little हस्ताक्षर and 💍 ceremony” — features a carousel of photos of the couple posing together, as well as snapshots of them inking their thumbprints into a registry book.

The pair’ssecond postis filled with more photo highlights from the ceremony, including several shots of Siddharth and Upadhyaya posing and celebrating with their loved ones. One photo captures Priyanka hugging her future sister-in-law in a sweet moment. Another shows Priyanka and Siddharth’s mother, Madhu Chopra, looking emotional as she watched Upadhyaya do a reading during the ceremony.

Also included in the carousel is a photo of framed portrait of Priyanka and Siddharth’s father, Ashok Chopra, who died in 2013 at age 62, along with a snapshot of a cake decorated with icing that read, “We miss you,” seemingly in tribute to him. As Priyanka noted in her own Instagram post, the ring ceremony took place on what would have been her father’s 74th birthday.

Siddharth was previously engaged to Ishita Kumar in February 2019, but the pair called off their engagement in June of that same year, perThe Times of India.

Priyanka, meanwhile, was recently in Mumbai for another similar occasion. She and her husband,Nick Jonas, attended the extravagant, multi-day nuptials of billionaire heirAnant Ambaniand wife Radhika Merchant.

For the couple’s Hindu wedding ceremony on July 12, theLove Againstar wore a yellow-orange lehenga set, consisting of a top, flared skirt and over-the-shoulder sash, embellished with crystals and intricate beading. Jonas wore a pale pink sherwani — a knee-hitting long-sleeve coat — with matching pink pants and shoes.

Ahead of the ceremony, Jonas, 31, posted an Instagram video of himself and Priyanka rocking out to “Barbie Girl" as they made their way to the event. “C’mon Barbie…#AnantandRadhika,” the musician captionedthe clip.
