Reese Witherspoon Says She Has a Project 'Cooking' with a Mystery Real Housewife After Sitting Together on a Flight

During a conversation withLaverne CoxforE! Live from the Red Carpetahead of the 2024Emmy Awardson Sunday, Sept. 15, theMorning Showstar revealed she sat next to aReal Housewivesfranchise star on a recent flight.

And though she wouldn’t reveal exactly who, she did share a big tease.

“We might have a Hello Sunshine project cooking now, but I can’t say anything,” said Witherspoon, 48, name-checking her media company. “But it was cool. It was really cool.”

As for whether she is a fan of the variousHousewivesseries, the actress told Cox, 52, on the carpet, “I have never watched it. I feel like it’s like, I can’t catch up.”

Witherspoon is nominated alongside costarJennifer Anistonfor outstanding lead actress in a drama series, whileThe Morning Showhas 10 nods total including outstanding drama series.

Asked what she’s watching these days, theOscarwinner told Cox she has been intoThe Bear,Swansand “Lessons in ChemistrywithBrie Larson,” calling the latter series “so amazing.”

“What else? I am watching all kinds of stuff,” Witherspoon added.

Sunday marks Witherspoon’s fifth Emmy nomination, having won once previously in the category of outstanding limited or anthology series, forLittle Fires Everywhere,which she starred in and executive produced. This year is her second acting nod forThe Morning Show.

The actress’s character Bradley Jackson and Aniston’s Alex Levy have experienced an up-and-down working relationship ever since the duo were partnered to anchorThe Morning Showfollowing the firing of Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) in season 1.

During an FYC event panel at Paramount Studios in June, Aniston, 55, opened up about thetight-knit bond she and Witherspoon have formedsince taking on their roles over the years.

“We love to hate each other, and we love to love each other, and I think that’s sort of a really fun dynamic that Reese and I get to play,” she said. “And, of course, we would like to be together forever, I would think. I hope, but … we really don’t know what’s going to happen.”
