Rey Mysterio — born Óscar Gutiérrez Rubio — and his wife, Angie Gutiérrez, have been married since 1996, and share two kids: son Dominik and daughter Aalyah.

Rey is often considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and the sport has been part of his family for several generations. His uncle, Rey Misterio, is a retired wrestler, while cousins El Hijo de Rey Misterio and Metalika are also wrestlers.

Rey has involved his own children in his career from an early age, too: Dominik has gone into the family business, while Angie and Aalyah have been featured in storylines over the years — most notably, Rey’s feud with fellow wrestlersSeth Rollinsand Murphy. In one memorableWWE SmackDownmoment, fellow wrestler CM Punk sang “Happy Birthday” to a young Aalyah.

Rey has both of his kids' names tattooed on him, and he and his children took part inCelebrity Family Feudin 2022 against the family of fellow wrestler The Miz.

Rey has spoken about his pride that Dominik has followed him into WWE, telling local news outletWESH 2in 2023: “It was very hard for him to walk in my footsteps or be in my shadow because of what I’ve created for the past 34 years, so it’s beautiful … I am truly blessed to be able to see his growth and just enjoy watching him.”

Rey and Angie welcomed their first child, son Dominik Óscar Gutiérrez, on April 5, 1997.

Dominik has followed his father and great-uncle into professional wrestling with WWE. He made a number of appearances as a child, first as an audience member in 2003 to watch his father win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, and he had his first storyline in 2005, when his dad and Eddie Guerrero “fought” for custody of him.

Dominik, whose ring name is “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, made his Raw debut at the age of 23 in August 2020. After Dominik and his father feuded with fellow wrestlers Rollins and Murphy, Dominik lost to Rollins in a Street Fight at SummerSlam.

In an interview withPro Wrestling Torchin 2016, Rey discussed his son following him into wrestling. He explained, “[Dominik] said, ‘I want to see if you can start training me.' I was like, ‘Wow! That’s awesome.' Deep down inside, I wanted him to say that. This is a very tough sport. But I don’t think it’s tougher, I think football is much riskier than wrestling.”

Rey toldtalkSPORTin 2021 that his son would have to “earn” the right to wear a mask like his elder relatives, but that “he’s already gotten a bunch of points from me.” He added, “I believe Dominik is on the path to earning the name and earning the mask, which comes with the name.”

Away from his wrestling career,Dominik marriedMarie Juliette Virissimo in March 2024. According to a November 2022 poston Instagram, the pair — who first met in a Spanish class at school — have been together for over a decade.

Aalyah Gutiérrez, 23

Rey and Angie celebrated the arrival of their second child, daughter Aalyah Gutiérrez, on Aug. 20, 2001.

Over the years, the WWE star has featured Aalyah on his social media. For her 19th birthday in 2020, he posted aseries of photosof his daughter, and called her the “most beautiful girl in the world in my eyes."

“Continue with your humbleness and that hard work ethic that you carry, you are truly one of a kind,” he added in the touching tribute.

While not a professional wrestler herself, she has been involved in WWE storylines under the name Aalyah Mysterio.

In one storyline, she became romantically involved with wrestler Murphy, and in another, the Mysterios hit Murphy with kendo sticks. She said in a 2020WWE Networkinterview that she “loved” it.

In a 2021 interview with talkSPORT, her father discussed the possibility of Aalyah going into wrestling herself.

However, Rey also said that she would have to continue with her studies, and that she “wants to be a part of the medical field.” Per herLinkedIn, Aalyah attended Grossmont College from 2019 to 2023, and her mom posted onInstagramin April 2023 that she’d been accepted into the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.
