RHOM's Julia Lemigova and Tennis Star Wife Martina Navratilova Welcome Two Sons: 'Over the Moon'

Martina NavratilovaandJulia Lemigovahave expanded their family from two to four.

The tennis legend, 67, and herReal Housewives of Miamistar wife, 52, have welcomed two sons together through adoption after nearly 10 years of marriage, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, are delighted and request that they be given the space and privacy to welcome the new members of their family.

“We are over the moon recognizing the challenges and the rewards for everybody,” Navratilova shared in a statement with PEOPLE.

The pair madeReal Housewiveshistory in 2021 as the first same-sex couple to appear on the franchise. At the time, Lemigova toldNBC Newsthat she was “overwhelm[ed]” with the support she and Navratilova received after she was cast on the Bravo show.

Navratilovaannounced that she was cancer-freein June 2023 and LemigovatoldPage Sixin December that they weren’t “closing the door" on their adoption plans quite yet.

The tennis legend met her wife in 2000, though they lost contact until 2008 when they ran into each other again, Lemigova toldThe Daily Mail.

“I was modeling, living in Paris [when we first met] and meeting all these amazing people — famous people, royals,” she said. “I’m not a tennis fan but, of course, I knew who she was and we just got chatting.”

The couple then crossed paths again at the French Open in 2008. From there, Lemigova began forming a friendship with Navratilova that slowly grew into something more over time.
