On an Oct. 16 episode ofJimmy Kimmel Live, The Golden Bachelorette’sJoan Vassosrevealed that she was an extra onSt. Elmo’s Firein 1985 and teased that Lowe had been her dream man ever since.

“I did get to meet him, and since I met him, I’ve had this huge celebrity crush on Rob Lowe,” she admitted.

“Would you trade in whoever you selected onThe Golden Bachelorfor Rob Lowe?” hostJimmy Kimmelasked.

Without hesitation, Vassos, 61, declared: “Like, in one second!”

Lowe, 60, responded to the statement on Nov. 13, in a fun video onInstagramjust hours beforeThe Golden Bachelorettefinale.

The clip cuts from Vassos’ interview to Lowe sitting and watching before he looks up and exclaims, “I could beThe Golden Bachelor.”

“That’s better than a Golden Globe — I think,” Lowe — who has beenmarried to wife Sheryl Berkoffsince 1991 - adds jokingly.

“Excited for the finale!” he captioned the post, tagging Vassos’ andThe Golden Bachelorette’s accounts.

Vassos will face a difficult, “life-changing decision” between finalists Chock and Guy on theGolden Bachelorettefinale. The preview shows her waking up and realizing she has fallen in love with one of them, which was especially meaningful given her struggle throughout the season to overcome grief for her late husband John.

“I really struggled with that in the middle of the season,”she told PEOPLE recently. “The Bachelorgives you access to psychiatrists that are actually at the mansion with you on the show, and so I did that. I actually had an appointment with them and we talked about what it would be, why it was so hard for me to move on in this journey and that I felt like I was still in love with John and I never would not be in love with him. And they’re like, ‘Well, that’s fine.’”

“They said, ‘Picture it like you have a balloon in each hand. One is John and one is this other person that you have feelings for, and you don’t have to let go of this one to have this one also,’” she continued. “There’s room in your heart and in your memory for more than one person.’ And I just needed to hear that it was okay. I didn’t have to not love John anymore, and I didn’t know that.”

Vassos told PEOPLE that the mental health resources and the show’s fast pace forced her to face her fears and move forward unafraid to open her heart up to another man.

“I evolved a lot over the season,” she explained. “I came in there thinking that I was so ready to find love and then realized that it’s a way different journey than I thought it was going to be. But I feel like I grew, and I don’t think I ever would be where I am today if I hadn’t done this, because it kind of gave me the motivation to get through some of these emotions quickly because I wanted to end up with somebody.”

By the end of the season, she said she felt like she landed “exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
