Rumer Willis Confirms Split from Boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas: 'I Am Single Momming It and Co-Parenting'

On Thursday, Aug. 22, Willis, 36, revealed she was no longer with her boyfriend Thomas as she answered fans' questions in an “Ask Me Anything (AMA) Uncensored” shared on herInstagram Stories.

“Are you and Derek still a couple?” one social media user asked, to which Willis replied, “Nope I am single momming it and co-parenting.”

“I’m so grateful for Lou,” the actress added of their 16-month-old daughterLouetta Isley Thomas Willis, whom theywelcomed on April 18, 2023.

“She is the best thing in my life and I am forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life,” Willis concluded.

On Aug. 16, 2022, while celebrating Willis' 34th birthday onInstagram, Thomas suggested they hadn’t been together long at that point.

“In the short time we’ve been together you have filled my life with joy and peace. Everything is just so easy with you. We sing, we dance, we play and most of all we laugh. Thank you for being you 😘 you’re a magical human I’m so glad you came into my life :-),” Thomas wrote alongside a photo of them at theRolling StonesBST Hyde Park concert in London.

“I love you, Louetta. Thank you for changing my life and transforming me into a better person. Being your father is the greatest joy of my life. It’s an honor to be your guide as you teach me how to live. Thank you you for existing and thank you to your mother @rumerwillis for being my loving partner on this journey of parenthood. I love you both," the musician wrote.

Willis has spoken openly about parenthood,telling PEOPLEin late March that “it was never a question” for her as to whether she wanted kids.

“I always knew,” she added, calling motherhood her “favorite thing ever” and saying welcoming little Lou “was one of the most validating experiences of my life.”
