In a joint statement posted onInstagramon Tuesday, Sept. 24, Quincy, 33, Christian, 26, and twins Jessie and D’Lila, 17, addressed the “many hurtful and false rumors circulating bout our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs' relationship.”

They added that “claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue.”

“She did not. And anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves.”

They clarified that anyone speaking as a “friend” of Porter’s “is not a friend” and does not have Porter’s best interests in mind.

“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother,” the siblings wrote of Porter, who died of lobar pneumoniain 2018. “She was our world. And nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established.”

They shut down any speculation of “foul play,” and asked that fans “respect our request for peace” as they continue to grieve the loss.

Lastly, Quincy, Christian, Jessie and D’Lila asked for respect, and for supporters to keep Porter’s legacy “in high regard so that she may rest in peace. It’s what she deserves.”

The statement comes afterKIM’S LOST WORDS: A journey for justice, from the other side…,purported to be Porter’s memoir, was released on Amazon this month. It details alleged disturbing and graphic sexual encounters with Combs and other well-known celebrities, as well as alleged physical abuse from the music mogul against Porter.

Combs' attorney told PEOPLE on Tuesday thatthe alleged memoir is “fake,““offensive” and “a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy.”

Combs and Porter dated off and on from the 1990s until they split in 2007. They welcomed son Christian in 1998 and Jessie and D’Lila in 2006. Combs also helped raise Quincy, whom Porter shares with R&B singer Al B.Sure.
