“Getting a lot of love and support from my older children,” he adds, referring to his kids Audrey and Calvin, whom he shares with his ex-wife Mollie. “We are very happy and looking forward to the adventure.”
Benedict, 54, and Connell, 45, shared the screen in the long-running CW series, which aired from 2005 to 2020. The Scottish actress portrayed the character of Rowena for six seasons, while Benedict played God/Chuck Shurley.

Benedict and Connell are having a year of big life milestones. In addition to their engagement, their daughter, named Margaret Vivian, made her arrival on Jan. 12.

She added a sweet shout-out to Benedict and his older kids: “Thank you@robenedict. I love you, Calvin and Audrey.”
Benedict showed his love to Connell on her birthday back in April, posting a cute photo of the pair and writing, “Happy Birthday to this wee peach. ❤️@ruthie_connell.”

“I didn’t go to drama college when I thought I would, I didn’t get my breakthrough [role] when I thought I would … it’s interesting to me that both this show [Dead Boy Detectives] and Margaret both took about five years to gestate and come through,” she said at the time, sharing her advice that you have to “just keep on going” to realize your goals and dreams.
“If you know what you want, just keep taking the steps toward that. Even if it doesn’t work out the way you planned, at least that way you know you tried,” Connell continued. “With Margaret, I tried so hard and even if it hadn’t worked out, at least I would have known I gave it everything I had.”
