A user has taken to Reddit for advice after claiming that a parentcomplained to an administratorabout the way they were dressed as a middle school teacher
In fact, she wrote, “Everyone always compliments my outfits!”
“My admin straight up told the parent that I always follow the dress code and I am just naturally ‘blessed.’ ” the Redditor added, later clarifying that administrator, who is a woman, used the words “naturally blessed” while explaining what happened to her — and that she personally “didn’t mind” the comment.
“I’m not sure if she said it to the parent like that,” the Redditor continued.
The teacher also explained that she felt grateful for the way the administrator handled the situation. “She was very, very supportive of me and I didn’t feel that she was siding with the parent in that whole interaction,” the teacher shared.
But, as the post came to an end, she asked, “Has this ever happened to anyone?”
“I’ve NEVER had a parent complain about my body,” she added. “I’m just a curvy girl and I physically cannot hide it.”
Another commentator added, “So instead of the parent talking to their kid about respecting someone’s body and minding their own business, [the parent] decided to complain to your higher up. I hate my generation, so much. We are failing as parents.”

Meanwhile, a different Redditor wrote that they felt like the conversation never should have made its way back to the teacher in the first place.
“When I was in college I was called [into] the Ed department office. Apparently my cooperating teacher (just observations, not full student teaching) complained that I wasn’t dressed professionally. I 100% was and offered to show them my clothes,” the commenter wrote. “Like, sorry I’m a woman and have boobs. I’m getting mad again just thinking about it and it’s been like 15 years.”
That user also remarked that they were “glad” the administrator backed her up.
“Middle school boys are going to talk about boobs no matter what you do,” they added. “Just keep being appropriate.”
