When Texas police arrived on the scene, they found an infant with a bullet wound in the backseat of a car. Two young children, 2 and 3, were in the vehicle beside him.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirms to PEOPLE that the deceased infant, who was just shy of 11 months old, has been identified as Khamari Khols Lang.
San Antonio police were dispatched at 12:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, to 7400 Merton Minter Boulevard – the address of a medical center parking lot – following a report of an injured child.

Khamari waspronounced deadat the scene at 12:28 p.m. that afternoon, according to authorities.
The medical examiner’s office says the infant’s cause and manner of death remain pending.
Police – who have labeled the case a homicide – say their investigation is ongoing.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday morning.
