The often-comedic crime drama ran until 2014, and Bomer won aPeople’s Choice Awardthe following year. Since then,White Collar’s popularity has endured, thanks to audiences watching the series on streaming services.
In April 2024, the show was added to Netflix and reignited talks of a potential reboot. “It’s technically in the works,” Bomertold Deadlineof the project. “These things are never quite as easy as you want them to be … but it seems to be that they are moving in the right direction, and it could be a very real thing within the next year or two.”
Fans of the police procedural didn’t have to wait long beforeVarietyconfirmedin June thata revival is on the way, with co-creator Jeff Eastin penning the script.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE about Eastin’s vision for the project in August 2024, Bomer said: “It’s fantastic, and it’s completely in line and in keeping with the show that we were able to do six seasons of. It really just feels like he was able to pick up the right where we left off.”

Before his Hollywood career, Bomer grew up in Texas outside of Houston and was childhood friends with actorLee Pace. “I’ve known him since he was shorter than me, when he was 14 and I was 15,” Bomertold GQ Hypein December 2023. The two later became roommates in New York City as they worked toward becoming actors.
Bomer’s first break came in 2002 when he landed a recurring role onGuiding Light, and he later earned starring roles on the first season ofTru Callingand in the horror movieThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning(2006).

A few years later, Bomer began exploring voice acting with the superhero seriesDoom Patrolin 2019. In 2023, he appeared inFellow Travelers, a miniseries about the Lavender Scare in the 1950s; the role earned him both Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Off-screen, Bomer has been married to publicist Simon Halls since 2011. They havethree sons: Kit, Henry and Walker. Despite their fame, Bomer and Halls try to ensure their kids have a normal upbringing.
“I don’t want anybody out on stage any time soon,” Bomer told PEOPLE in December 2020. “When I was 8 years old, I asked my parents to get me headshots, and they were like, ‘What are you talking about?! Go outside and play!’ I’m so glad they did.”
On the way, Bomerwill star inOutcome, a film about a disgraced Hollywood star who gets blackmailed with a video from his past.Keanu ReevesandCameron Diazare both attached to star, withJonah Hillwriting and directing the project. “He wasn’t just my father,he was my best friendand a mentor before I even knew what that was,” Nathenwrote on Instagramin September 2022 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of his dad’s death.
He added, “He inspired me when I was younger to be better than I ever thought I could and because of that, I try to always do better. … I would not be where I am today if not for him. I wouldn’t be who I am if not for him.”
