The retired NFL player, 47, shared a recap of his favorite moments watching the2024 Paris Olympicsalongside daughterVivian Lake, 11, on Instagram and shared a message about the importance of the games.

Another picture showed a split screen of him watching the gymnastics with an awed look on his face as Olympic gold medalistSimone Bilescompeted, along with his view of the equestrian, basketball, tennis, gymnastics and beach volleyball competitions from his seat.
“I didn’t quite know what to expect going into@Paris2024, but our three days truly went above and beyond what I could ever have imagined,” he captioned the photos, before discussing the significance of watching female Olympic athletes compete with his daughter.
“We saw athletes from many sports and many countries, but it was especially meaningful to be able to come to this incredible city with my daughter and watch the most powerful women I’ve ever seen fight for gold, silver and bronze,” he continued. “For the first time in Olympic history there was a 50:50 split of female and male athletes, a stat I was proud to tell Vivi as she watched these heroes compete.”

The former football player then highlighted the importance of sports bringing “so many people together” and evoking “the best in” competitors and fans. He noted that he particularly “seemed to be living and dying with each of the performances” and had a “great appreciation” for all of the Olympic athletes’ “hard work, commitment and dedication.”
“I’ve said it a few times lately, but we should all aspire to do HARD things,” he shared. “Whether it’s in sports or in life, push yourself beyond your comfort zone to see what you can really accomplish. Just like these athletes all across the world have done!”
“Congratulations to the champions, the competitors and the entire city of Paris on a once in a lifetime event With countless memories and enduring relationships,” he concluded his post.

Back in June, Brady revealed to PEOPLE that he would beattending the summer Olympics with his daughter, saying, “It’s going to be so fun.”
“I love all sports!” He added. “Whether it’s a soccer team in the UK, whether it’s a racing team like the Hertz Jota team, whether it’s a football team, pickleball team, a women’s basketball team, an NFL team… really the culture is about people, and about accountability and discipline, and then leadership.”
