Travis Scotthas been arrested in Paris after getting into a fight with his bodyguard, according to French police.
The rapper, 33, was arrested at a five-star hotel in the French capital in the early hours of Friday, Aug. 9, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed to PEOPLE.

The rapper is alleged to have attacked a security guard who attempted to break up the two men at the George V Hotel, according to French authorities.
A representative for Scott told PEOPLE in a statement: “We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate.”

Sources close to Scott tell PEOPLE the rapper is expected to be released shortly, adding that no injuries have been reported and that he has not been charged with anything.

On June 20, Scott wasarrested in Miamion charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing on a property after a warning, according to public records
“Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding,” his attorney Bradford Cohen said in a statement at the time. “There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”
