Most recently, Martin, 47, put on asurprise performance at the 2024 Global Citizen Festivalin New York City withEd Sheeran.

Though Martin and Sheeran were not scheduled to perform,Gayle Kingintroduced the duo as her “new favorite boy band sensation, Ed and Chris.”

Meanwhile, during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in September, Martin said that the band only plans to release12 albums total.

“It’s really important that we have that limit,” he said, noting that theHarry Potterseries contains seven books. “There’s only 12 and a half Beatles albums. There’s about the sameBob Marley, so all of our heroes. and also having that limit means that the quality control is so high right now, and for a song to make it, it’s almost impossible, which is great.”
