Woman Called 911 Pretending to Order Pizza, Saving Herself from Attempted Rape: 'I'm So Stuck in Here'

The 911 center at the Volusia Sheriff’s Office received a call early in the morning on Saturday, Oct. 19, from a woman pretending to order a pizza while dropping implicit hints that she was in the presence of an attacker, the sheriff’s office said in astatementlast week.

Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo, 27, was arrested in the field in Pierson, Fla., on several charges including attempted rape, authorities said in the statement.

Investigators released a recording of the 911 call and the bodycam footage of police arriving at the scene to rescue the woman.

When the 911 dispatcher answers the call, the woman says: “I would like to order a pizza. I’m so stuck in here.”

The dispatcher checks with her if she is aware that she’d called 911.

She is unable to provide an address when asked, and says, “I’m stuck in here. Won’t take me back home.”

The woman stays on the line, pretending to place an order for a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese, while the dispatcher continues to ask her questions. During the conversation, she tells the dispatcher that she is injured.

The dispatcher keeps her on the line while officers are deployed to the scene.

Bodycam footage shows officers approaching the suspect while he is “on top of her” in the open field, while the alleged victim keeps screaming for help.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he has entered pleas or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.
